Dr. Joyce C. Wertheimer LCSW, PhD is a Certified Sex Therapist, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an American Board of Sexology (ABS) Certified Clinical Sexologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Sexology.

Wertheimer is a graduate of Barry University and the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists at Maimonides University.  In addition to meeting with patients, Wertheimer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Sexology and holds professional memberships from the National Association for Social Workers, the National Association of Sex Educators, Counselors & Therapists, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality and the Sex Information & Education Council of Canada and the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health.

Wertheimer specializes in couple’s therapy, encompassing both heterosexual and homosexual relationships. Situations may include married or cohabitating couples or those living apart. She also assists individuals and couples in which one or both members have had severe medical conditions or diagnoses including but not limited to heart disease, hypertension, stroke, and cancer. As a trained clinical sexologist, Wertheimer has assisted many individuals and couples in all sexual orientations and lifestyles to achieve a more satisfactory and rewarding sexual relationship. Therapy includes but is not limited to counseling, education, instruction and guidance as dictated by the clients’ needs and treatment plans to help in their pursuit of achieving a satisfactory sexual relationship. 

In addition to her practice, Wertheimer is currently producing a line of libido enhancers and sexual lubrication crèmes. Dr. Wertheimer is also in the process of writing a workbook to aid couples with sexual issues.  Moreover, she co-authored and developed an educational program for nurses in a course called Exploring Sexuality in 2004 with Dr. Eileen Volpe.

Eileen Volpe received her Doctorate in Clinical Sexology from Maimonides University in Miami, Florida.  She received her Masters in Nursing from the University of Central Florida and her RN from Suffolk Community College  in New York. Eileen has earned numerous rewards has been published in medical journals and periodicals.

Dr. Volpe is a certified Clinical sexologist specializing in the health of men and women who are experiencing sexual concerns as a result of aging, disability or illness. Her experience as a nurse practitioner allows her to integrate the care of her clients both physically and emotionally.

Dr. Volpe is a Certified Menopause Clinician and has 20 years experience working in the field of Maternal- Child Health. In addition she lectures both locally and nationally in the field of menopause, lactation, sexual dysfunction and adolescent health.
